Southern Cranes have Grand designs
Southern Cranes were featured on "Grand Designs", a Channel 4 programme, aired on Wednesday 8 April 2009 at 9:00pm.
This Channel 4 programme follows some of Britain's most ambitious self-building projects, as intrepid individuals attempt to design and construct the home of their dreams. In this week's episode Kevin McCloud met Barry from Brighton who is about to start a major new project - for the first time he's building his own house, and he has high ambitions.
Southern Cranes were used to lift massive panes of glass in to place for the windows. Each pane weighted over ¾ tonne and the builders needed to find the largest cranes available to lift the pieces in to place. Naturally they came to us, and we were able to supply the MK100 tower crane.
During the building work Southern Cranes also supplied a Tadano ATF40G, a Liebherr LTM1055 and a Terex Demag ATT600.
