Southern Cranes & Access is looking for an experienced Mobile Tower Crane Operator to join our team and operate one of the most impressive and versatile cranes in our fleet – the Liebherr MK 140.

This is a full-time, permanent position, offering 40 hours per week plus overtime, good rates of pay and the opportunity to develop your career with one of the South East's leading crane hire companies, operating one of the region's largest and most versatile fleets.

Why the MK 140?

This isn't a conventional mobile crane role.

The Liebherr MK 140 combines the mobility of a mobile crane with the reach and versatility of a tower crane, making it particularly suited to complex lifting operations, restricted sites and challenging city-centre work.

With a maximum lifting capacity of 8 tonnes, a maximum radius of 65 metres and hook heights of up to 94.4 metres, it's a highly capable and specialised machine – and we're looking for the right operator to take the controls.

Already operating an MK? We'd like to talk

Experience operating a Liebherr MK 140, another Liebherr MK series crane or similar Mobile Tower Crane would be a major advantage.

We're also interested in hearing from experienced Mobile Crane Operators who have the right skills, attitude and ambition to develop into a specialist Mobile Tower Crane role.

We're looking for someone with strong crane operating experience who takes pride in doing the job properly.

What we're looking for

You'll need:

• CPCS A60 Mobile Crane Operator
• HGV Class 2 / Category C licence
• A strong commitment to safe lifting
• A professional approach when dealing with customers and site teams
• The experience and confidence to make the right call and stop a lift if it isn't safe
• Flexibility to travel to different sites when required
• A positive attitude and the ability to work well with colleagues, customers and contractors

The role

As a Mobile Crane Operator, you'll be responsible for safely driving and operating our cranes between the depot and customer sites and carrying out lifting operations in accordance with safe working practices and the capabilities of the crane.

You'll liaise with our hire desk and site teams, carry out the necessary operational checks and use your experience and judgement to ensure every lift is completed safely, professionally and efficiently.

You'll also receive inductions and training on specific crane models where required, helping you become familiar with the equipment, systems, rigging and manufacturer procedures across our fleet.

Lift/Crane Supervisor:
Southwater, Camberley & Thatcham

Location: London & the Southeast must be able to travel to Thatcham/Camberley.

Southern Cranes and Access have an exciting opportunity and are currently recruiting for a Lift/Crane Supervisor on a full-time, permanent basis.

We are looking for an experienced CPCS/NPORS qualified Lift/Crane Supervisor with a good understanding of lifting operations and the UK Crane Hire industry.

Applicants must be flexible to travel to various locations as required and have a positive attitude with the ability to maintain good working relationships with colleagues, clients, and contractors.

Duties Include:

• The Lift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the set-up, maintenance, and safe and efficient operations of the lifting equipment. They are responsible for co-ordinating and supervising all lifting activities in accordance with regulations and is required to be present during all lifting operations.
• Working with the Crane Operator to ensure safe lifts.
• Co-ordinating and supervising all lifting activities in accordance with the Lifting Plan.

Requirements:

• CPCS/NPORS Lift/Crane Supervisor Card
• Previous experience as a Lift Supervisor
• Good communication skills
• Safety conscious
