What are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced, driven Business Development Manager to join our team at Southern Cranes and Access.

The role is primarily home office/ field based and you will be covering London and the Home Counties. This is a full-time position, working Monday-Friday, although we expect the applicant to be flexible and available as required.

As a Business Development Manager at Southern Cranes & Access, your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities and dealing effectively with sales leads from across the business
  • Liaising with customers at all levels, understanding their requirements and creating and delivering the best solutions to meet their needs
  • Taking ownership of all relevant work from conception through to completion
  • Being a brand ambassador and promoting the company at every opportunity
  • Ensuring that all work is prioritised and therefore delivered to the customer in a timely manner
  • Collaboration with colleagues and sharing of technical expertise to deliver best in class customer service
  • Negotiating contracts and framework agreements with new clients within agreed parameters
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients
  • Maintaining accurate records of sales activity and client interactions

Person Specification, Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Prior sales role experience
  • An understanding of crane hire is helpful but not essential as full training will be provided – a technical sales background is preferred
  • IT literate and familiar with Microsoft office applications such as PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Construction related sector experience is desirable
  • Ability to negotiate and build strong B2B relationships
  • Strong customer focus with a deep understanding of customer relationships and business process
  • Ability to work under pressure, be self-motivated, committed to meeting deadlines, and to manage multiple requirements and demands effectively
  • Strong knowledge of the construction and crane hire industry, including market trends, competitors, and regulations

Tyre Fitter . Location: Southwater and mobile as required

Tyre fitter:
Southwater and mobile as required

This is a mobile tyre fitter position, based from our Southwater depot, near Horsham.

We are looking for a new team member to join our rapidly expanding company as a mobile tyre fitter. The position is both yard-based and mobile as required.

The role offered is full-time, Monday-Friday, although we expect the applicant to be flexible and be able to work overtime, including weekend working where required. You will also be required to participate on-call.

Applicants must be flexible to travel to various locations as required for on-site and roadside assistance.

Job description:

Your time will be spent providing one of three key services: scheduled tyre servicing, fitting new tyres, attending roadside breakdowns.

  • Tyre fitting - including car, van, HGV, trailers, plant equipment and mobile cranes tyres
  • Out of hours breakdown attendance
  • Assistance in depot stock control and stock taking.
  • Completion of job specific worksheets and servicing schedules to the required standard
  • Repairing tyres as needed.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in heavy commercial tyre fitting and mobile cranes tyres
  • To be considered for this role, you must hold a valid driving license
  • Level 2 NVQ in tyre fitting is advantageous
  • Safetyre Qualification is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of fleet tyre management to help maximise tyre wear etc

Skills/experience:

  • Fast fit / tyre fitting / automotive or mechanic experience
  • Comfortable working under pressure and to tight timescales
  • Happy to work as part of a team
  • A commitment to quality of work, including quality control

Mobile Crane Operators . Location: Southwater, Camberley, Thatcham

Mobile Crane Operators:
Southwater, Camberley & Thatcham

Southern Cranes & Access Ltd are currently recruiting for Mobile Crane Operators on a full-time, permanent basis (40 hrs per week + Overtime).

South East (Southwater, Camberley and Thatcham)

We are looking for Mobile Crane Operators with a valid CPCS card with A60 Mobile Crane Operator authorisation and HGV Class 2/Class C Licence. We pride ourselves in delivering safe lifting solutions coupled with an excellent customer experience.

The role of a Mobile Crane Operator includes the following:

  • Driving the Crane in a safe and efficient manner between SCA depot and customer sites.
  • Liaise with Site Manager/Project Manager upon arrival on site.
  • Follow safe working procedures & guidance for manual handling.
  • Carry out safe lifting operations while working within the capabilities of the equipment in use.
  • Undergo training on specific models of crane, become familiar with rigging and maintenance procedures as per manufacturers guidance and recommendations.
  • Be fully aware of the effects of the wind and other climatic effects on the crane and load.
  • Able to take the action to avoid dangerous situations, including stopping lifting operations if required.
  • Able to resist pressures from other persons to carry out unsafe operations.
  • Be competent in the operation and correct functioning of the relevant safety equipment and systems within the crane
