COVID-19 Update - still operating a range of services

The well-being of our staff, customers, suppliers and all associated business partners is our number one priority. You can be assured that their health and safety have the complete attention of Southern Cranes & Access.

In line with current UK Government & Public Health England’s suggested guidelines on the COVID-19 pandemic, we are still able to operate a range of services. 

All of our employees are fully aware of the current government requirements and are undertaking extreme levels of health and safety procedures throughout every aspect of the business.

We have put robust processes in place so we can continue to operate effectively throughout this rapidly changing period of uncertainty.

Exciting new addition to our fleet

We have an exciting new addition to our fleet of mobile tower cranes with the extremely compact Spierings SK597-AT4 – available to hire from 17th February.

Max Capacity: 1.7te at 48 metre radius. Luffing jib from 30 to 58 metre lifting height.

The crane will carry 4 x 1.1m X 1.1m mats as standard.

Kato city cranes added to the fleet

Southern Cranes have recently added a Kato CR-200i and two Kato CR-250RV to its fleet of ‘city cranes’. This crane type is incredibly compact, manoeuvrable and versatile so is ideal for working in restrictive areas or inside buildings.

Mobile crane operators required

Our Liebherr LTM1450 at Canary Wharf

Our Liebherr LTM1450 working for Plant Movements at Harbour Exchange, Canary Wharf. The crane was configured with 134 tonnes of counterweight and 35 metres of luffing fly jib.

Our Liebherr LTM1090 at Kew Gardens

Our new Liebherr LTM1090 complete with man basket was used to replace sections of glass at the world’s largest glass house at Kew Gardens.

Southern Cranes & Access were hired to erect the construction of the main centrepiece sculpture at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed - celebrating 70 years of Porsche.

Centrepiece lift at Goodwood Festival of Speed

This year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed celebrated 70 years of Porsche motor cars. Southern Cranes were hired by Littlehampton Welding to erect this year’s iconic centrepiece sculpture which featured six examples of different Porsche models from different eras and backgrounds.
 
The sculpture stood 52 metres high and weighed 30 tonnes in total. Southern Cranes used its Liebherr LTM1450 (450 tonne) mobile crane to erect the heaviest central section which weighed 22 tonnes.
